Top 5 Skincare Tips for Men

Top 5 Skincare Tips for Men

Life is short, and so should be a man’s daily skincare routine. Follow these 5 best skincare tips for men and you’ll immediately start seeing better skin now, and well into the future.

1. Know your skin type.

Knowing your skin type is as valuable as knowing the difference between right and left. It will help you purchase men’s grooming and men’s skincare products that are appropriate for your skin type, saving you tons of time, frustration and money. Why is this important? Because certain products and ingredients work better for certain skin types.

2. Get a daily basic routine.

A basic daily men's face care routine doesn’t need to be fancy. Washing your face with a men’s face wash and men’s moisturizer in the morning and night will dramatically improve your skin and keep it healthy your whole adult life. If you’re already in your golden years, these two products will help restore some of the skin brightness that has been lost, as well as fix pigmentation issues.

3. Mind the eyes and forehead.

These are the areas men start seeing wrinkles and aging first. Aging is caused by structural skin folds, caused by loss of moisture in your skin cells. Keeping these areas hydrated with men’s anti-aging products will allow your skin to maintain its firmness better over time.

4. Use a face scrub (but not everyday).

Us men love using face scrub. We like to feel as if something is “working” and all that friction on the skin gives us that feeling. However, it’s not good for skin on a daily basis. Use a men’s face scrub only 2-3x a week (less if you have dry/sensitive skin) to keep your face looking polished and bright. On days when you don’t use a face scrub, simply use a face wash for men as usual.

5. Stay out of the sun.

Even when you use a face moisturizer for men with SPF, the sun can harm your skin. Not because natural zinc based SPF doesn’t work, but because we both know you are not reapplying it as often as recommended. Nor are you probably covering every inch of your body.
